What to look for?
Does your scalp itch?
Have you or your children been exposed to someone with head lice?
Do you see small bites or scratch marks on your child’s scalp?
Can you see evidence of lice on the scalp? Part hair and look closely, especially around the ears, crown, and nape of the neck (a magnifying glass helps). You should look for:
Eggs (nits)—Lice lay tiny, whitish eggs that cling to the hair shaft.
Bugz – Live lice are tiny brown insects, smaller than ants, crawling around the scalp. These bugz often adapt to the color of the hair shaft, so they can range from lightish to dark brown
Nymphs—Baby lice, smaller and often light brown in color
